National Honor Society (NHS)
The Fayette National Honor Society works hard to bring the accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, and the community.
Our Fayette NHS is very involved in the school and community and sponsors two blood drives through the American Red Cross, a Veterans Day breakfast for local veterans, a trip to the Toledo Museum of Art for all seventh grade students, plus NHS co-sponsors a Senior Citizen luncheon for the seniors of our community.
Student Council
Fayette Student Council is involved in multiple student based events as well as outreach programs throughout the year such as:
Heavenly Hat Day fundraiser – Hats are collected, and/or money, which is then donated to the “Heavenly Hat Foundation” to help kids with cancer receive hats.
Homecoming – There is no Homecoming like Fayette’s Homecoming! This is truly a community event! Student Council Members help to orchestrate and decorate the winter Homecoming dance every year. This project takes well over a month of planning and over a week to decorate.
Prom Promise Campaign - Every year preceding Prom, Student Council organizes an awareness campaign. This is done as a way to help students think before they drink. Often the campaign involves the fire department and local police department, but has also included Life Flight in a demonstration.
Relay for Life- This campaign is another amazing tradition for Fayette which began over fourteen years ago. Fayette Student Council began this as an awareness campaign to raise money for cancer research and has raised well over $25,000. Funds have been donated to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the ADAMHS Board.
Each year the Student Council and National Honor Society are rewarded for their hard work with a trip such as Cedar Point, Kalahari, and a Detroit Tigers Game.
Quiz Team
Our Fayette High School quiz team is a part of the Northern Buckeye Academic League (NBAL) and competes several times throughout the year, including Monday Night League matches as well as three separate tournaments.
Special Programs
Fulton County Career Exploration Day – High School seniors create resumes, practice employability skills, and participate in mock interviews with actual area employers.
Real Money/Real World-Real – This is a life simulation relating to income, employment, and financial choices.
College Fair Days - Fayette Juniors and Seniors attend two college fairs each school year for informational purposes.
Quarterly Military Visits – Visits include representatives from the Army, National Guard, and Marines.
Junior High Trip to Washington, D.C. - Every other year, Fayette Junior High students have the opportunity to take advantage of an experience of a lifetime by participating in a three-day trip to our nation’s capital.
TRIPS around the World - The Fayette Travel Group’s next trip is slated to explore Italy and Greece with over a dozen student travelers. During the trip students mature and gain confidence in their own capabilities. It is an amazing journey for our students. On occasion, parents or family members will join our Fayette Travel Group on the trip.
