Student Resource Officer (SRO)

In cooperation with the Village of Fayette Police Department Fayette Local School District employees a School Resource Officer (SRO). An SRO has been assigned to the school district since the 2018 school year. While present during the school day the SRO interacts with students and facilitates prevention programs and school safety initiatives.

Our SRO, Officer Bill McConnell, is certified by the Ohio School Resource Officers Association and is certified to teach D.A.R.E. The second and fifth grade students always look forward to participating in the D.A.R.E. program each year.

Officer Bill McConnell organizes and facilitates all school’s safety drills. Officer McConnell also introduced Navigate Prepared to the school district; a emergency preparedness solution used not only for the annual safety drill, but also for required monthly fire drills.
