Student Resource Officer (SRO):


In cooperation with the Village of Fayette Police Department Fayette Local School District employees a School Resource Officer (SRO). An SRO has been assigned to the school district since the 2018 school year. While present during the school day the SRO interacts with students and facilitates prevention programs and school safety initiatives.

Our SRO, Officer Bill McConnell, is certified by the Ohio School Resource Officers Association and is certified to teach D.A.R.E. The fifth grade students always look forward to participating in the D.A.R.E. program annually for a 10-week time frame.

Officer Bill McConnell organizes the school’s safety drills, and facilitated a full scale drill during the 2019-2020 school year. Officer McConnell also introduced Navigate Prepared to the school district; a emergency preparedness solution used not only for the annual safety drill, but also required monthly fire drills.
