How do I sign up for a Virtual Academy Course?

Sign up with the Fayette Virtual Academy Contract. Please contact the Fayette Virtual School Director.

Are Fayette Virtual Academy Virtual Academy courses accredited?

Yes, the courses offered through Fayette Virtual Academy are accredited.

Can I attend Fayette Virtual Academy and my regular high school at the same time?

Yes, Fayette Virtual Academy is designed for students currently enrolled in Fayette Local Academy, as well as students who are enrolled in other school districts.

How many Virtual Academy courses can I take at one time?

Students enrolled in the on-line option will be allowed to take up to eight Virtual Academy courses at one time.

Will a Fayette Virtual Academy course credit transfer to another district?

Fayette Virtual Academy awards credits that are completely transferable to your local district.

How long do I have to complete a course?

Students have one semester (16 weeks) to complete a course by working a minimum of 1 hour per day or 6 hours per week. Students should plan on completing 6% of the coursework each week.

What is the cost of tuition?

Tuition is free for students enrolled at Fayette Local Schools.

Can I drop the Course?

You have 10 days from the first day of the course to drop without penalty.

Can I take more than one class at a time?

Yes, as long as your counselor approves it.

Can I take the first semester and second semester at the same time?

Unless it is noted that the first semester is a pre-requisite for the second semester, both semester courses can be taken at the same time if offered.

Is there a class size limit?

No.

Do the students have to be from Fayette Local Schools?

We will accept any student from any district as long as their counselor approves them to attend Fayette Virtual Academy.

Is there an attendance requirement?

You will be required to login a minimum of 6 hours per week.

Is it self-paced (i.e. Can I finish faster than the end date)?

Yes. Our courses are self-paced. A student may finish the course before the established end date of the course.

Is there a computer I can use somewhere?

Students enrolled full time at Fayette Local Academy will be supplied with a contracted computer while enrolled in Fayette Virtual Academy.

Can an incoming freshman take a class in the summer before they start high Academy?

All students are eligible if the course is approved by their counselor. All incoming freshmen will need to get approval from their guidance counselor.
